To kick things off, we start with the Unbox Picks for Flagship phones for 2024. Do note that this is in no particular order since we’re still debating within the team which one deserves to be crowned as the best flagship phone for 2024.

Xiaomi 14
While Xiaomi chose to not offer the Pro model globally, the standard Xiaomi 14 is no slouch. It’s a rare compact flagship with its 6.36-inch display, yet packs a solid Leica-branded camera setup that consists of a 50-megapixel f/1.6 main camera with OIS, 50-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3.2x zoom. The main camera has Summilux branding, so you are ensured that you’re getting solid image quality with the Xiaomi 14. It is one of the few phones that rock a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and its under Php 50k price tag makes it a solid option.
OPPO Find X8
As one of the first Dimensity 9400 phones to arrive in the Philippines, the Find X8 is the next best phone you can buy if you’re not an iPhone fan with its boxy look that consists of flat frame sides and a flat AMOLED panel that has one of the thinnest bezels we’ve seen on a phone. It gives the Xiaomi 14 a run for the money with three 50-megapixel cameras (main, ultra-wide, and 3x telephoto) with Hasselblad branding. We’re impressed at what the cameras are capable of especially in tricky lighting situations, and OPPO’s suite of AI features make the Find X8 a solid pick.
vivo X200
Being the most recent flagship we’ve reviewed so far, the X200 goes toe-in-toe with the Find X8, having near-identical features and roughly the same overall performance with its use of a Dimensity 9400 chip. It may lack wireless charging, but the X200 makes up for it with its use of ZEISS T* coating for the cameras, making it handle reflections from lights better. The X200 also joins our top picks for flagship phones with its huge 5800mAh that’s proven to last close to two days.
HUAWEI Pura 70 Ultra
The Pura 70 Ultra is proclaimed the best camera phone for 2024, and we agree with that statement. Armed with HUAWEI’s XMAGE image processing, the Pura 70 Ultra’s camera performance is hard to match even when you choose to zoom in at 10x. The Pura 70 Ultra’s camera performance is so good that its unique retractable main camera with a variable aperture can rival entry-level to mid-range mirrorless cameras even in low-light scenarios.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
Beyond a new titanium frame and an updated telephoto camera that sacrifices optical zoom range for a higher-resolution sensor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra remains the benchmark for those who want to take crisp and detailed concert fan cam videos in glorious 4K60 resolution. Samsung’s Galaxy AI also sets the benchmark as one of the most polished implementations of AI features on a phone, and we’re not surprised that other brands are following suit.
