The 10th Generation iPad is Now Php 5k More Affordable

Apple recently announced the 2024 versions of the iPad Air and iPad Pro. While both tablets received a substantial price hike–especially for the 2024 iPad Pro with its use of a “tandem OLED” display and a new M4 processor–Apple wants an iPad for every price bracket. In its announcement of the 2024 iPad Air and Pro, Apple also announced that the iPad 10th Generation–which launched in 2022–will be Php 5k more affordable moving forward.

This means that the 10th generation iPad will now have a starting price of Php 24,990, making it the most affordable iPad you can buy for 2024. This price cut to the 10th generation iPad also means that Apple’s entire 2024 line of iPad are modern with USB-C–if you go to the official Apple Website in the Philippines, the 9th generation iPad–aka the last iPad to still have a Home button, Lightning connection, and thick bezels–is no longer available.

You’ll probably wonder at this point at why the 6th generation iPad Mini is Php 7k more expensive than the 10th generation iPad despite being smaller. There are two main reasons: the 6th generation iPad Mini uses a more powerful A15 processor compared to the A14 used on the 10th generation iPad, and the latter’s display lacks an antireflective coating and is limited to sRGB color gamut coverage.

With the price cut and the rather steep price hike for the 2024 iPad Air, this makes the 10th generation iPad a more sensible option for those who want to buy an affordable tablet from Apple. The A14 is still good enough for most tasks, and the option for a 256GB variant makes it also suitable for those who need more storage.
