It is coming to our country real soon
Staying true to its commitment of rolling out commercial 5G by this year, HungryGeeks spotted several listings for 5G-ready Smart SIMs online via Facebook Marketplace and Shopee.
While the package reveals Smart’s new 5G branding and has an alleged value of Php 40 (the current price of 4G LTE SIM cards), pricing for the 5G-ready SIM cards varies, with some costing several thousands of pesos for those with special numbers.
While PLDT-Smart has deployed 5G networks in Makati, Clark, and Araneta City, the telco network has not officially announced which 5G devices will it bring to the Philippines. For its 5G network launches, Smart has been using a Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G to demonstrate internet speeds—most likely, it will be one of the first 5G phones in the Philippines once commercial 5G officially rolls out.
