Confirmed! Xiaomi 12T Series to Launch on October 4

After being in the rumor mill as a tweaked Redmi K50 Ultra, Xiaomi has confirmed on their social media channels that the 12T series will be unveiled globally on October 4. The main highlight of the Xiaomi 12T launch is the 200-megapixel camera system, which we presume refers to the Pro model.

We don’t know what 200-megapixel sensor the Xiaomi 12T Pro will use, but it’s most likely going to be the ISOCELL HP1, which is the same one found on the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra. To recall, the HP1 has a 1/1.22-inch sensor size and comes with an f/1.69 aperture, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It has three ways of pixel binning: in 16-in-1 mode, you get 12.5-megapixel stills with 2.56um pixels, while 4-in-1 mode gets you 50-megapixel stills with 1.28um pixels. Using the full 200-megapixel resolution gets you 0.64um pixels.

16-1 pixel binning in various resolutions that go from 12.5MP stills with a 2.56?m pixel pitch to 50MP stills (1.28?m pixels) or natively at 200MP (0.64?m pixels) depending on your needs.

Being similar to the Redmi K50 Ultra, the Xiaomi 12T series is expected to have a 6.67-inch 120hz AMOLED display with an unconventional 1220×2712 resolution, along with a 5000mAh battery with support for 120w charging. The Pro model will get a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, while the vanilla model gets a Dimensity 8100 and a 108-megapixel main camera.

We should know more about the Xiaomi 12T series when they launch on October 4, along with the long-rumored Redmi Pad.
