The Dimensity 8400 Can Allegedly Match the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

With the Dimensity 8300 giving the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and even the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 a run for the money, MediaTek is set to make its mid-range processor line with the upcoming Dimensity 8400. A scaled-down version of the Dimnensity 9400, and scores for the Dimensity 8400 have surfaced, and they look very promising.

According to Digital Chat Station, a prototype phone using a Dimensity 8400 was able to score between 1.7 and 1.8 million in AnTuTu, putting the processor at par with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. Recent flagship killers are using the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, and our experience with it shows that it is better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in some scenarios.

If the score is not impressive enough, Digital Chat Station also claims that phones that will use this new mid-range MediaTek chip could cost as low as CNY 1500 or around Php 13k converted. The Dimensity 8300-powered POCO X6 Pro starts at Php 17k in the Philippines, so the rumored figure is possible.

With the flagship-like performance of the Dimensity 8300 offered at a mid-range price point, we will not be surprised if MediaTek manages to pull off the same feat with the Dimensity 8400. And just like with the Dimensity 8300, Redmi is speculated to be the first one to use the Dimensity 8400 with the upcoming K80 series.
