Aside from the Pixel 9 series, Google also announced an updated foldable as well with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Having a different naming scheme from its predecessor, Google completely revamped the design of its latest foldable, making it taller and slimmer. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is 10.5mm folded and 5.1mm unfolded, making it thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold6. You also get an IPx8 rating, making Google’s new foldable up to par with rival offerings.
For the displays, the outer panel is a 6.3-inch LTPO 120hz OLED, while the inner panel is a square 8-inch LTPO 120z OLED. Both displays have a full HD+ resolution and a peak brightness of 2700nits. Both displays also have punch-holes for a 10-megapixel selfie camera.
As for the rear cameras, they are not that different from the one used on the Pixel Fold, which include a 48-megapixel main camera, 10.5-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and newer 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
The battery is smaller at 4650mAh, but the new Tensor G4 procesasor should be able to help it match the battery life of its predecessor. Like the rest of the Pixel 9 series, you are getting Android 14 out of the box with all of the latest Google AI features–and will be among the first devices to get Android 15.
