The Honor X8b has an Actual Dynamic Island

After unveiling the X9b and X7b, HONOR completes its Xxb line of budget mid-range phones with the X8b. Unlike with its siblings, there’s a big difference between the X8a and X8b on the outside.

The official photos emphasized the biggest upgrade on the X8b, which is an AMOLED display with a capsule-shaped punch hole in the center for a high-resolution 50-megapixel camera and and an LED flash. This gives the X8b a unique look with its Dynamic Island-like design that is hardware-based. The upgraded display still has a 90hz refresh rate and slim, symmetrical bezels on all four corners.

The square-shaped camera module is similar to the X8a save for an upgrade to a 108-megapixel main camera. As for the internals, you are getting a rather aging Snapdragon 680 processor with up to 8GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage. The processor of choice limits the X8b’s video capabilities, where recording resolution is capped at Full HD.

Keeping the lights on is a 4500mAh battery with support for 35w charging, along with MagicOS 7.2 out of the box.

The HONOR X8b starts at $240(~Php 13.5k) in Saudi Arabia for the 8GB/128GB variant. We expect the X8b to arrive in the Philippines, so stay tuned for updates.
