HUAWEI’s New MatePad Pro Has Same Tech as M4 iPad Pro

Aside from the nova Flip, HUAWEI also introduced the 2024 version of the MatePad Pro 12.2 and highlights its latest advanced screen technology, which is a double-layer OLED display. Its design is similar to Apple’s Tandem OLED display on the M4 iPad Pro, and Huawei claims that the new tech triples the screen lifespan and increases power draw efficiency by 33%.

The huge 12.2-inch display boasts a 2.8K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 2,000 nits peak brightness, 3:2 aspect ratio, P3 wide color gamut, 2000000:1 contrast ratio, and delta E < 1 color accuracy–all of the features you expect on a flagship tablet. It also rivals the M4 iPad Pro by being very thin at 5.5mm and light at only 508 grams.

While Huawei did not disclose the processor used on the MatePad Pro 12.2, it is presumed to use a variation of the Kirin 9010 used on the Pura 70 Series, with configuration options that include up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. Keeping the lights on is a 10100mAh battery that supports 100w charging, while its cameras consist of a 13MP f/1.8 main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP front camera.

The MatePad Pro 12.2 2024 starts at CNY 4199 in China for the 12GB/256GB model, or around Php 34k when converted. It remains to be seen if Huawei will make this flagship MatePad available in the Philippines.
