Apple has just wrapped up its Glow-up event tonight, and as expected the Cupertino firm released several versions of its new iPhone 16. Aside from the vanilla model, Apple also released a Plus model, along with a Pro and Pro Max model that had bigger displays and better cameras.
The most obvious, external change for the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus is the vertically-stacked, pill-shaped cutout, along with the new camera button for snaps. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max meanwhile, has exactly the same design as last year’s model, which is pretty much par for the course as far as Apple is concerned.
One thing that we did notice is the fact that Apple still makes 128GB variants of their phones when almost every other smartphone manufacturer has moved on to offering 256GB as the base model for their devices. 128GB, especially at these prices, is unacceptable, but it seems that Apple marches to the beat of its drum when it comes to tech trends. Anyway, here’s the price of the iPhone 16 series in the Philippines:
iPhone 16 (6.1-inch display)
128GB – Php 54,990
256GB – Php 61,990
512GB – Php 73,990
iPhone 16 Plus (6.7-inch display)
128GB – Php 62,990
256GB – Php 69,990
512GB – Php 81,990
iPhone 16 Pro (6.3-inch display)
128GB – Php 69,990
256GB – Php 76,990
512GB – Php 88,990
1TB – Php 100,990
iPhone 16 Pro Max (6.9-inch display)
256GB – Php 84,990
512GB – Php 96,990
1TB – Php 108,990
That’s quite a few thousand pesos more when converting from the US price. Yes, there are taxes and duties to contend with, but we’re talking about almost a Php 20K price hike from the US price for the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Oof.
