It will no longer be exclusive to China

After OPPO Philippines teased the arrival of the R-series in a post, a new promo video of the R17 has surfaced, corroborating with the teaser post.

The 30-second teaser post shares some of the R17’s highlights which include an in-display fingerprint scanner, 6.4-inch Dewdrop display, and 25-megapixel front camera. Even more interesting is that the R17 is teased to have Google Play and Google Assistant built in.

For those not aware, all China-exclusive phones do not have any Google apps installed ever since Google pulled out of China due to censorship concerns. This means that those who purchase phones from China will need to sideload Google apps (here’s a workaround should you need it).

Going back to the R17, OPPO’s latest premium mid-ranger comes with a Snapdragon 670 processor, Gorilla Glass 6 protection, 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and a 3500mAh battery with VOOC quick charging.
