Motorola is stepping up its game for its RAZR 2024 flip foldable phones: aside from a revamped hinge, 6000 series aluminum frame, and an IPx8 rating, both the RAZR 2024 and RAZR+ 2024 now feature wraparound cover displays, making their external display more usable.
The RAZR+ 2024 (RAZR 50 Ultra in China) features a large 4-inch cover display that rivals the Magic V Flip but comes with a 165hz variable refresh rate. The inner display is a 6.9-inch Full HD+ panel with a 165hz refresh rate.
The RAZR+ 2024 is powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a reasonable upgrade from the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 used on the RAZR+ 2023. The battery is also bigger at 4000mAh, and you get 45w wired and 15w wireless charging. As for the cameras, you are getting two 50-megapixel cameras on the RAZR+ 2024: a main camera with an f/1.7 aperture and OIS and a 2x telephoto camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
Going to the standard RAZR 2024 (RAZR 50 in China), you’re getting a smaller 3.6-inch cover display–but that’s an upgrade from the diminutive cover display on the RAZR 2023. You get the same inner display, selfie camera, and main camera as the RAZR+ 2024, but the secondary camera is a 13-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and powering it is MediaTek’s new Dimensity 7300X processor that’s made for foldables. It gets a slightly bigger 4200mAh battery, but wired charging speeds are at 30w.
