New OnePlus Open Renders Reveal Similarities to Find N2

After we got confirmation that OnePlus’ first foldable will be called Open, there have been reports that its initial plan for an August 29 launch has been changed. While the delay is said to be OnePlus switching from BOE displays to Samsung instead, new renders of the Open reveal that there will be major design changes.

The most notable change here is the aspect ratio, where the Open will adopt a more compact design similar to OPPO’s approach with the Find N2. With a more compact design this time around, the circular camera module is more pronounced, with the Hasselblad branding being simplified to just an H branding. Despite the more compact appearance, reports state that the OnePlus Open will be bigger than the Find N2.

The new renders of the OnePlus Open also reveal that the signature alert slider will still be there, and that the back panel appears to have a faux leather texture. Other changes include a tweaked frame, relocated stereo speakers, and the inner display’s selfie camera being relocated to the top left corner.

Going through the alleged spec sheet, the OnePlus Open will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor that’s paired with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage. The displays will consist of a 6.3-inch outder display and a 7.8-inch inner display, both having a 120hz adaptive refresh rate. The battery capacity will reportedly be at 4800mAh with 67w charging, while the rear camera setup appears to be a solid one: 48-megapixel sensors for the main and ultra-wide camera, and 64-megapixel for the telephoto camera.
