Fresh from the launch, we got our hands on the retail version of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. To recap, Samsung’s 2025 Android flagship is among those that use a Snapdragon 8 Elite, though like last time they specific custom tuning, so benchmark numbers may be bigger compared to regular, 8-core versions of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. For full disclosure, all benchmarks are run with the Galaxy S25 Ultra using the Standard Performance Profile.
To kick things off, we ran Geekbench 6’s CPU benchmark test, and it’s clear that the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy trumps MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400–the chip used by Android flagships like the vivo X200 and OPPO Find X8. From our database, the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy is 27% more powerful than the Dimensity 9400 in single-core tests and 26% better in multi-core tests.
Moving to GPU benchmarks, we got a 21% performance improvement over the Dimensity 9400 in 3DMark’s Wild Life Extreme, which again showed that Qualcomm’s 2025 flagship chip is more powerful than MediaTek’s equivalent offering. Unlike other Snapdragon 8 Elite phones that reported overheating problems while running benchmarks, we did not run into any issues with the Galaxy S25 Ultra while benchmarking it.
Overall, it seems that as far as benchmark numbers are concerned, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be on the top of our lists when it comes to CPU and GPU performance. Overall, the Galaxy S25 Ultra looks to be another solid flagship from Samsung and expect to see more content on the site in the coming days.
