The Magic Vs2 is the Lightest Foldable in the Market

HONOR has been announcing one new foldable after another in the past few months, with the Magic Vs2 as its latest model. It is a successor to last year’s Magic Vs, with the key upgrades being on its frame and hinge design. With the Magic Vs2, HONOR went for a magnesium alloy frame and used a new Luban titanium hinge. Both components helped trim the Magic Vs2’s weight to 229 grams, which is 2 grams lighter than the newer Magic V2 and 32 grams lighter than the original Magic Vs.

Aside from the weight reduction, the Magic V2s is also slimmer than its predecessor at 10.7mm when folded (vs 12.9mm). It may not be as thin as the Magic V2, but the upgrades on the Magic Vs2 show HONOR’s commitment to making foldable phones thin and light with new materials and manufacturing techniques. One of HONOR’s goals is to make foldable phones pocketable–something that remains to be a challenge for other brands.

While it still uses the same Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, the Magic Vs2’s inner display now has a 120hz adaptive refresh rate, so the battery life for its 5000mAh cell should be better on paper. Both inner and outer displays work with a stylus, though you’ll need to buy that separately.

Going to the cameras, the Magic Vs2 shares the same main and telephoto snappers used on the Magic V2. It does get a downgraded 12-megapixel ultrawide shooter but still retains autofocus.

The Magic Vs2 is priced at CNY 6999(~Php 55k) for the 12GB/256GB model and CNY 7999(~Php 63k) for the 16GB/512GB. The Magic Vs is official for the global market, so there’s a good chance that the Philippines might get the Magic Vs2 in the coming months.
