The vivo X Fold 2 is the First Foldable with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

Following up on its X Fold+, vivo unveiled the X Fold 2 in China. Following its predecessor, the X Fold 2 has two under-display fingerprint scanners: one on the 6.53-inch 120hz AMOLED outer display, and one on the larger 8.03-inch 120hz LTPO OLED inner display–the latter boasting ultra-thin glass. Both displays support HDR10+ content and have a peak brightness of 1800 nits, along with a punch-hole for a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.

Like the X Flip, the X Fold 2 also has a flex mode feature that allows you to prop it at 90 degrees for a laptop-like experience. The X Fold 2 uses a new droplet-style hinge system that’s lighter and more durable than the one used on the X Fold and Fold+. The new hinge makes the X Fold 2 2mm slimmer and 33g lighter than its predecessor. Keeping the lights on is a 4800mAh battery that supports 120w wired and 50w wireless charging.

Even if it its a foldable, the X Fold 2 has a solid Zeiss-branded triple rear camera setup that consists of a 50-megapixel IMX866V main camera with OIS, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with autofocus, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 2x zoom.

When it comes to internals, the X Fold 2 is the first full-sized foldable that comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It comes with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage–just like the X Flip.

The vivo X Fold 2 starts at CNY 8,999 (~Php 73.3k) for the 256GB variant and CNY 9,999(~Php 81.4k) for the 512GB variant. vivo currently has no plans of making the X Fold 2 available outside of China–at least for now.
