Will there be a realme Foldable Coming Soon?

While realme wowed the MWC 2023 crowd with the GT3 and its 240w wired charging, there’s no question that one of the highlights of this year’s MWC is with foldables. HONOR has made the Magic Vs available for global markets, while TECNO is giving the foldable market a shot with the Phantom V Fold. Motorola showcased a unique rollable phone prototype too, so we got curious: will realme join the trend and launch a foldable device?

We asked this question to realme executives at MWC 2023, and here’s some good news: realme IS considering a foldable device, but they are still assessing if they will launch a book-type foldable (ie. Galaxy Z Fold4, Magic Vs, Find N2, Phantom V Fold) or a flip-type foldable (ie. Galaxy X Flip3, Find N2 Flip, RAZR 2022).

The Find N2 Flip.

But given realme’s target demographic, which is more of the Gen Z crowd, they have to consider various factors to make foldables appealing to them.

“The first one is how to combine design and function together for realme through this so it’s not just a beautiful or shiny but it can also be fashionable, trendy but also very useful for our users,” realme Vice President Chase Xu said. “And the second one is realme [making] you go “wow”.

With realme’s Leap-Forward philosophy, there’s a possibility that they will have their own foldable device soon. What will matter is how realme will wow the crowd with their own foldable devices just like how they made a statement with the GT3.
