Xiaomi 14 Design, Cameras Teased Ahead of Launch

We just need to wait a day before the official unveiling of the Xiaomi 14 series, and the brand has gone ahead to reveal the official design of the standard Xiaomi 14.

Confirming previous renders, the Xiaomi 14 will have a large square module that will house three cameras and an LED flash. The Leica branding is placed right in the middle of the four circles, and the text makes us speculate that the main camera will have a f/1.6 aperture, while both the ultra-wide and telephoto cameras will have a f/2.2 aperture.

The official renders confirm flat sides for the Xiaomi 14’s aluminum frame, along with a more subtle bump for the camera module. The official design renders also reveal the Xiaomi 14 having thin and symmetrical bezels on all four sides of its 6.36-inch AMOLED display, along with the SIM card slot being located at the bottom of the phone.

Xiaomi boasts the skinny bezels of the Xiaomi 14, which is only 1.6mm thick for the top bezel and 1.71mm for the bottom bezel. For comparison, the top and bottom bezels of the iPhone 15 Pro are both 1.75mm.

Aside from the design, Xiaomi also revealed some key camera features of the Xiaomi 14. Like its predecessor, the Xiaomi 14 will retain the same telephoto camera with 3.2x optical zoom that translates to a focal length of 75mm. What’s intriguing is the sensor used for the main camera: it is bigger at 1/1.31 inches, and features 1.2um pixels. Xiaomi is not specific about what sensor is used, but it is speculated to be the OmniVision OV50H. Xiaomi also shared photos shot using the Xiaomi 14–all of them looking promising.

Expect Xiaomi to reveal more details about the Xiaomi 14 series tomorrow (October 26), so stay tuned to the site.
