After Google, HONOR, and Samsung unveiled their latest foldable devices, Xiaomi is set to be the next brand to launch one with the Mix Fold 3. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared photos of the Mix Fold 3 on Twitter and Weibo, and we get a good look at the flagship foldable.
What’s noteworthy with the Mix Fold 3 is the Leica-branded quad-rear camera setup, where it mentions a focal length range of 15mm (ultra-wide) to 115mm (telephoto). The latter will be an impressive jump, as the Mix Fold 2 only came with an 8-megapixel 45mm portrait telephoto. While it’s impressive for a foldable, it remains slim for Xiaomi to make the Mix Fold 3 available globally.
Speaking of slim, Lei Jun mentioned that the Mix Fold 3 will be slim. We don’t know how slim at this point, but we expect it compete against the Magic V2, which is 9.9mm thin when folded.
As to what else to expect with the Mix Fold 3, the latest leaks point to it having an IP rating, an under-display camera, and 67w wired and 50w wireless charging. Xiaomi may pull off more surprises about the Mix Fold 3 come launch day on August 14, so better stay tuned to the site.
