With Christmas just around the corner, one of the challenges with the holiday season is the availability of ride-hailing services. Grab, for their part, promises that it will improve its service with the upcoming Christmas rush by adding 10,000 more cars on the road.

That sounds like a lot of cars on the road–so how will Grab fulfill its Christmas promise? In an interview with ANC, Country Head Ronald Roda said that the first tranche of 5,000 cars is already on the way, while another 5,000 is expected to arrive in time for the holidays. Roda also added that the Christmas season is important for Grab, as the demand for ride-hailing services surges as much as 4 times.
I think there’s a bigger purpose to this, in the sense that, you know when we don’t do it, people get disappointed. And so, the way I look at Christmas these days is: how do we deliver joy to the customers?” Roda explained in the interview.
Aside from promising more Grab cars on the road, Roda explained that higher demand does not necessarily translate to higher fare prices. Roda adds that they have options for users to save on fares like GrabCar Saver and Share with Friends.
