realme Unveils GT Neo5 SE: 5500mAh with 100w Charging

After the GT3 (aka GT Neo5 240w) has gone global at MWC 2023, realme has announced a GT Neo5 SE in China that’s slightly toned down–but still packs flagship-like features.

The GT Neo5 SE is similar to the global GT3 as it also uses a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5k resolution, 144hz refresh rate, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a punch-hole for a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. The rear camera bump is the same in size, but the GT Neo5 SE has a more minimalist look and a more conventional setup–64-megapixel main, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and 2-megapixel microscope lens.

While it also has an option for up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, the GT Neo5 SE uses a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor that is slightly toned down from the global GT3’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 BUT offers significant improvements from the rarely-used Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

Also interesting is its battery capacity and charging speed: realme was able to pack a larger-than-usual 5000mAh battery inside the GT Neo5 SE while having support for 100w charging–which is most likely the same SuperVOOC charging solution used on phones like the OnePlus 11.

The realme GT Neo5 SE starts at CNY 2099(~Php 16.7k) for the 8GB/256GB model, with the top-end 16GB/1TB version retailing for CNY 2799(~Php 22.3k). It will go on sale in China on April 10, and it remains to be seen if it will see a global release.
