Smart is expanding its eSIM options as it now offers a tourist version that’s meant for foreigners and returning OFWs. For this, Smart is offering two versions: Php 599 gets your 24GB data, unlimited local calls and texts to all networks, and a 30-day validity. Power users can opt for the Php 1599 one that comes with unlimited data, local calls, and texts–also valid for 30 days.
The Smart tourist eSIM is available at their Online Store and select Smart Stores nationwide, allowing tourists to enjoy local rates for data, calls, and texts, eliminating the usual concerns about high roaming fees or limited WiFi access.
Being an eSIM, tourists can conveniently install this on their eSIM-supported phone by scanning the provided QR code–saving them the hassle of swapping or changing their main physical SIM with a local SIM.
Smart’s announcement of its Tourist eSIM is made as the telco unveiled its 5G max service at Bonifacio Global City, where they are using next-generation infrastructure to provide faster upload and download speeds and ultra-low latencies.
