Xiaomi SU7 Spotted in the Philippines

Xiaomi SU7 Spotted in the Philippines

The Xiaomi SU7 is probably one of the EVs that we look forward to seeing in the Philippines. Aside from having looks that can give other EVs available in the Philippines a run for the money, one of the intriguing things about the SU7 is that its starting price is roughly the same as a Toyota Fortuner.

While we still don’t know if Xiaomi has plans to bring the SU7 to the Philippines, Visor shared in a Facebook post that someone has imported it to the country.

Based on the single photo that Visor posted on Facebook, it seems that we’re looking at the base variant of the SU7 given the absence of a LiDAR sensor on the roof. The silver colorway is also one of the debut colorways–though we wished they imported the red one, which was stunning in person when we saw it in Beijing.

There’s also another photo of the same car that was shared on Facebook, and digging through the comments section revealed that the SU7 is being sold for Php 3 million–or almost double its original price in China. The higher asking price presumably factors things like taxes and duties–which is probably the same reason why the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y sold in the Philippines have a significant mark up.

    1. There are no charging stations yet, if there are, there are very few.
    2. I’d rather get the Fortuner.
