Alleged Galaxy S9 Packaging Reveals Confirmed Specs

Among those include a variable aperture rear camera

While we still wait for the official launch of the Samsung Galaxy S9, leaks of its alleged retail box have surfaced. The leaked photo even gave a quick peek at the Galaxy S9’s features.

While its 4GB RAM and 64GB internal sotrage may disappoint fans, what’s interesting with the Galaxy S9’s features is its rear camera. Aside from sporting dual pixel technology and OIS, the Galaxy S9’s 12-megapixel camera has a variable aperture setting: f/1.5 for low light conditions, and f/2.4 for daylight conditions.

This camera setup is not exactly new. Samsung first used this on the China-only W2018 flip phone. Here’s a closer look at how the variable aperture works:

Other confirmed specs for the Galaxy S9 include a super slo-mo video recording, IP68 water resistance rating, and a 5.8-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display. Along with the Galaxy S9+, Samsung will be launching its latest flagship phones on MWC 2018.
