With the changes from Sky’s plans, the landscape for fiber internet in the Philippines will become more competitive towards the end of 2024. If you’re looking for a new internet plan, here’s our guide for the latest internet plans from the major ISPs in the country:
PLDT
Aside from introducing Unli Fiber Plan 1399 and 1799, PLDT has updated the speeds of its other plans: double the speed for Plan 1699 and Plan 2099 and a 200Mbps jump for Plan 2699. Save for the entry-level Plan 899, PLDT’s Unli Fiber plans come with unlimited mobile calls and texts to 5 nominated Smart and TNT numbers. PLDT still offers its 1Gbps Plan 9499, but that top-end plan is subject to area availability.
Do note that aside from Unli Fiber Plans, PLDT also has Fiber Unli All which bundles Cignal TV, and Fiber Plus which bundles a Mesh WiFi system.
Converge
Converge updated its base FiberX Plan 1500 to offer speeds of up to 200Mbps to make it more competitive against other offerings. Converge also offers 1Gbps speeds under Plan 7499, but like with PLDT this top-end plan is subject to area availability. Converge still offers its unique Time of Day Plans, where you get higher speeds for either daytime or nighttime.
Aside from FiberX, Converge also has its contract-free version that has FiberX Plans in 6-month or 12-month terms instead of the usual 24-month lock-in period.
Globe
Globe hasn’t changed its Fiber plans, so its base offering is still Plan 1799, which offers speeds of up to 200Mbps and comes bundled with several inclusions like Razer Gold credits and a 1-year Disney+ subscription.
For existing subscribers, Globe has a different set of Plans which are as follows:
- Plan 1299 – 100 Mbps
- Plan 1499 – 300 Mbps
- Plan 1999 – 500 Mbps
- Plan 2799 – 700 Mbps
- Plan 4999 – 1 Gbps
Aside from offering a 1Gbps plan like PLDT and Converge, Globe remains the only one to offer speeds of up to 1.5Gbps with their Plan 7499, which includes a Fiber-to-the-room connection for NCR residents. Do note that this top-end plan is subject to area availability as well.
Sky
The latest update to Sky’s fiber plans shows significantly better value for money compared to their old plans. One of the biggest changes is with the new Plan 1500, which offers speeds of up to 200Mbps. That’s a big boost from Sky’s old Plan 1699, which offered only 75Mbps. As for their base Plan 999, this offers up to 75Mbps, which offers better value for money compared to the old Plan 999 offering only up to 50Mbps.
Like Converge, Sky also has its Day or Night plans where you get higher priority for either daytime or nighttime. Sky has yet to issue an advisory to subscribers of their old fiber plans if they will transition to the new TruFiber plans as of this writing.
That’s our recap of the updated fiber internet plans that major ISPs have to offer for the 4th quarter of 2024. Which plan is the most enticing for you?
