While initially rumored to launch in India on April 5, POCO has confirmed that the F5 and F5 Pro will be launching on May 9. And it’s not just a launch in India: POCO Philippines also teased the launch of the F5 series, which makes us believe that this will be a global launch.
So far, we can confirm that the F5 will use a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor and will most likely have a 12GB/256GB variant. Previous rumors point to the POCO F5 being based on the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, and with the processor confirmation, the POCO F5 should have almost the same specs as its Redmi doppelganger–save for the 16GB/1TB variant and the Harry Potter collab.
As for the POCO F5 Pro, an alleged photo of the phone made its rounds on the internet and it looks very similar to the Redmi K60 save for the obvious POCO branding. Again, assuming there are no changes, the POCO F5 Pro is expected to have a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, along with a 5500mAh battery that supports 67w wired and 30w wireless charging.
The POCO F5 Pro’s triple rear camera is expected to be similar to what we saw on the F4, though the display will be an upgrade for any POCO device–since it’s speculated to be based on the Redmi K60, the POCO F5 will have a 2K resolution, 12-bit color support, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
As for availability, while the global launch will be for both the POCO F5 and F5 Pro, the latter will not be made available in India.
