Huawei nova 11 to Adopt iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island

Huawei is going to copy the iPhone 14’s Dynamic Island for the upcoming nova 11 series.

While the P60 series will be the first big release from Huawei this 2023, the brand is also working on the nova 11 series as well. Little is known yet about the mid-range series, but a Weibo post by Classmateguan disclosed that Huawei is taking a page from the iPhone 14 Pro by adding a dynamic island-like feature on the nova 11.

We’re not surprised that Huawei is going for a centrally-placed, capsule-shaped punch-hole on the nova 11, as Xiaomi was the first one to pull it off with the Civi 2. While not indicated, we assume that the nova 11 will have two cameras on that punch-hole–and that this will be implemented on the Pro model instead.

Unlike the Civi 2, however, the nova 11 will reportedly use a 4G Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, which is a big upgrade over the Snapdragon 778G that has been used in both the nova 9 and nova 10 series.

As for the back panel, the nova 11 is expected to have a triple rear camera setup, and the rearranged design would possibly mean that the nova 11 will house bigger sensors than the 50-megapixel main camera used on both the nova 10 and nova 9 series. Like the Mate 50 and upcoming P60 series, the nova 11 is expected to utilize Huawei’s XMAGE imaging tech.
