Internals: Mediatek over Snapdragon?
While people would opt for the V7+ because it uses a Snapdragon processor, one should note that the F5 uses one of MediaTeks’ newest processor with the MT6763. On paper alone, the MT6763 has a much faster clock speed at 2.5GHz compared to the Snapdragon 450’s 1.8GHz clock speed.
While they both sport 4GB of RAM, the V7+ has a slight advantage for having a bigger internal storage at 64GB compared to the F5’s 32GB.
Screen: Full HD display any day
While both the V7+ and F5 use a 6-inch 18:9 display, the F5 has the better display as it uses a Full HD+ panel instead of a HD+ panel found on the V7+.
Cameras: Bigger aperture is better?
As for the cameras, it is difficult to say which has the better camera setup: For the rear camera, the F5 is better since its 16-megapixel snapper has a f/1.8 aperture. For the front, however, the V7+ has a higher megapixel count at 24-megapixels. What makes the F5 interesting is its Beauty AI feature, which has been impressing those who got to use the F5. We will be doing several tests and a possible blind camera test to determine which one has the better set of snappers.
Battery: Almost the same
At 3200mAh, the F5 Is slightly smaller over the V7+‘s 3225mAh battery. As for its battery life, we will be testing the F5 further to see if its 3200mAh battery can last us a day (or even more) on regular use.
Verdict: F5 wins because of price
Being Php 2K cheaper than the V7+, the F5 offers a better spec sheet, making it the better bang-for-the-buck phone. While the F5 looks like the winner in this quick comparo, we will be reviewing the F5 thoroughly to see if it is indeed a better choice over the V7+.
