The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the most powerful processor one can have in 2023, though performance may vary per device–as evidenced by AnTuTu’s April 2023 report. After the Red Magic 8 Pro+ took on the reigns as the best-performing flagship phone last March, the new top flagship device is the ASUS ROG Phone 7 Pro (aka Ultimate).
The ROG Phone 7 Pro has a substantial lead over the rest of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered phones in the list, posting a lead of almost 16,000 points aganst second placer OPPO Find X6 Pro. Like the Red Magic 8 Pro, the ROG Phone 7 will be available globally, which means people will have easier access to the current top flagship phone for 2023 when it comes to performance. Aside from the two gaming phones, the OnePlus 11 is the other top-performing flagship that is available globally.
As for the sub-flagship (aka flagship killer segment), the category that used to be dominated by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8000 series chips has been outperformed by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 processor that’s used on the Redmi Note 12 Turbo (aka POCO F5 for global markets). The lead of the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is very large, as it is almost 109,000 points higher than the top-performing Dimensity 8200-powered phone with the iQOO Neo7 SE.
In the list, the realme GT Neo3 and Redmi Note 11T Pro (aka POCO X4 GT) are the phones in this list that have a global availablity–until the official launch of the POCO F5 on May 9.
