Samsung Vietnam Unveils Galaxy A24 with Helio G99

After the Galaxy A54, A34, and A14, Samsung adds another model to its 2023 Galaxy A-series with the A24. Unlike its siblings, the Galaxy A24 is a 4G-only model that’s powered by a Helio G99 processor. Its overall design is close to the Galaxy A34 with its 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display, though the refresh rate was not disclosed–we presume it’s a 90hz panel since the Galaxy A23 came with a 90hz TFT display.

Aside from that, there’s also no mention of an IP67 rating–which the Galaxy A34 has–but Samsung might have added this feature to the Galaxy A24. It does differ from the Galaxy A34, as the Galaxy A24 appears to have a side-mounted fingerprint scanner based on official renders.

As for the cameras, the Galaxy A24 has a triple rear setup that consists of a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The selfie camera is 13 megapixels, and like the Galaxy A34, it has a 5000mAh battery with support for 25w charging. Configuration options include 6 or 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, along with Android 13-based OneUI 5.1 out of the box.

Comparing it to last year’s Galaxy A23, you are getting decent upgrades on the A24, especially with the display, processor, and the inclusion of OIS for the main camera. Samsung Vietnam did not reveal the price, but we expect it to be priced at under Php 15k should it arrive here in the Philippines.
