Natasha Romanova aka Black Widow from The Avengers

Portrayed by the gorgeous Scarlett Johansson in The Avengers movie, Black Widow is a Russian Spy who’s an expert in weapons and close combat that joins the team after she’s recruited by Nick Fury. As expected, the 1/6th scale limited edition collectible figurine from Hot Toys has a stunning likeness to the movie character! All the details, from the hair style, body suit, down to the pistols and electric gloves she used were all in the box.

Here’s the TV spot for The Avengers that featured Black Widow. It’s from one of my favorite scenes in the movie (when she was being “interrogated”).

Beautiful and Deadly

The figure stands approximately 28 centimeters tall and is very posable thanks to more than 25 points of articulation. It comes with a sculpted head in the likeness of Scarlett Johansson. Unlike Thor which used plastic hair sculpt, Black Widow has actual hair implants that’s very similar to the color and style (brownish red short curly hair) that was used in the movie.

It’s also amazing that they were able to capture Black Widow’s body shape with the figure! Apparently this is a newly developed TrueType body that they made just for Black Widow. Well if any character deserves her own body sculpt it definitely would be this one, lol.

The figure has the same black colored jumpsuit with belts/holsters on the thighs, platform boots with buckles, and gloves. The material feels like leatherette and the zipper of the jumpsuit actually works.

As with any figure from Hot Toys, Black Widow came with a bunch of accessories and extras. First up we have 8 pieces of interchangeable gloved palms. These hand pegs lets Black Widow use the several weapons included in the box. These include 2 pistols, 2 discs (which I have no idea what they’re for), 1 pair of Stinger bracelets (electric shocker gloves) and 1 alien rifle.

All of these accessories combined with the articulation as well as the likeness to the character makes for an excellent figure worthy of Scarlett Johansson and The Avengers franchise. Here are a few more photos for your perusal:

Just awesome. Now that we have Black Widow the only figures we’re missing are Hawk Eye, Agent Coulson, and Nick Fury. We’re definitely going to get Hawk Eye soon but we will probably skip on getting Coulson and Nick Fury. This collection is already getting too expensive for our own good, haha!

Black Widow 1/6th scale limited edition figure from The Avengers by Hot Toys sells anywhere from Php11,000-Php14,000 in malls. If you’re lucky you can score one for less than that online through the different toy groups and forums.
