After revealing the Phantom V Fold2 and V Flip2 without any fanfare last month, TECNO has formally revealed the official specs and global pricing of its new foldables.
Starting with the Phantom V Fold2, you are getting the same core specs of its predecessor, which include a Dimensity 9000+ processor, 7.85-inch inner display, and 6.42-inch cover display. However, the body is thinner at 6.1mm unfolded and under 12mm folded. It’s also significantly lighter as well at 249 grams.
Just like recent trends, the Phantom V Fold2 has AI features built in that’s powered by Google Gemini. Some of the AI features include a real-time smart chatbot, AI Summary, AI Translation, and AI Writing. There’s also AI Artboard for transforming scribbles into art and AI Wallpaper for creating unique wallpapers based on text prompts.
As we’ve seen in the earlier photos, the Phantom V Fold2 has a revamped camera setup that has 50-megapixel sensors for the main, ultra-wide, and telephoto shooters. You also get two 32-megapixel selfie shooters as well. Also interesting is that it packs a huge 5750mAh battery inside with support for 70w wired and 15w wireless charging, along with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage.
Moving to the Phantom V Flip2, you’re getting a bigger cover display at 3.64 inches and a 1056×1056 resolution. The outer display has a wraparound design just like recent flip foldables from Motorola, HONOR, and Xiaomi. The inner display is a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display. Powering it is a Dimensity 8020 processor that’s paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.
While there’s no changes to its thickness and weight, you do get two 50-megapixel cameras, along with a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. Like the Phantom V Fold2, the Phantom V Flip2 also has a suite of AI features built in. It also has a sizeable battery at 4720mAh, which is the largest for a flip foldable. It supports 70w charging, and TECNO claims that it can reach 50% inches 15 minutes and a full charge in 43 minutes.
The Phantom V Fold2 is priced at $1,099(~Php 61.6k), while the Phantom V Flip2 is priced at $699(~Php 39.2k). It will be sold initially in South Africa on September 23 and will be sold in Southeast Asia, Middle East, and Latin America later on.
