Epson Philippines Doubles Down On A Productive Yet Sustainable Future

As humans move towards the future, an incredulous amount of effort and sacrifices have been made for the sake of progress. This sensitive balance especially affects business entities that exist to simultaneously generate revenue for shareholders and immense value for customers, yet mitigate negative impacts on the planet as it is. Epson Philippines recently held its annual event named Fusion 13 Lite to celebrate with media partners and reiterate its commitment towards sustainable operations.

“Epson aspires to be an indispensable company,” said newly appointed Epson Philippines President and Director Masako Kusama, as she welcomed media attendees to the first face-to-face Fusion since 2019. “We work hard to be trusted throughout the world by staying true to our commitment to openness, customer satisfaction, and sustainability.”

Epson Philippines Marketing General Manager Eduardo Bonoan then went on to explain the company’s vision. Their unified goal is to “create the least amount of impact on the environment” and innovating “better products for a better future.” This includes a strong commitment to innovative, recyclable, energy-efficient, and reliable products that will last a long time.

The company’s three-pronged approach boils down to these points: PrecisionCore printhead technology for heat-free printing, 3LCD liquid crystal technology for crystal clear images, and Force Sensors for robotics. These are the pillars on which Epson Philippines prides itself on bringing only the highest quality to our shores.

Their latest tagline, “Be Cool,” emphasizes the importance of good thermals. Heat leads to faster-wearing parts and components which will have to be replaced earlier in the cycle. The lack of heat also indicates lesser energy usage, something you’ll be grateful for when the electricity bill arrives. This is all thanks to the in-house Piezo Ink Ejection Process, a brainchild of the engineers over at Epson.

“Through Epson’s heat-free technology, our inkjet printers shorten the printing process by removing the stages that use heat. Not only do we reduce power consumption, but we also save time with efficient high-speed printing. At the end of the day, we are able to bank on productivity, as well as deliver value by reducing environmental impact and creating a sustainable printing ecosystem,” Bonoan explains.

“Moreover, Epson’s innovative 3LCD technology allows our laser projectors to deliver vibrant, true-to-live images with higher color brightness and wider color spectrum, but utilize fewer watts and ultimately reduce energy consumption. No mercury is used in the production, which avoids the use and disposal of five lamps throughout the product’s lifespan, significantly reducing environmental impact,” he added.

Thea Maria Austria, Epson Philippines’ Department Manager for Corporate Commercial and Industrial Product Management, went on to elaborate on the versatility of works that can be performed with Epson printers. This includes something as simple as a calling card and stickers to custom vehicle wraps, building signages, and other large-scale installations.

In order to achieve these end products, the company carefully constructs their Epson Genuine Inks with the pursuit of perfection and nothing less. The name of the game is consistent brilliance from the first to the millionth print, which will continue to shine even years after its release.

The brand has gone as far as inventing new methods for users to easily authenticate their Epson Inks from the convenience of their homes.

Epson Philippines has not forgotten about the students all over the country. They’ve also introduced the HyFlex educational system, a set of tech materials to make learning in a hybrid setting more effective. This includes interactive projectors as the display for convenient annotation and collaboration between teacher and students, a document camera as a visualizer tool for sharing physical materials that cannot be digitized, an entry projector to monitor online attendees, and a multi-function printer to directly print lessons with the annotations from the projector. According to the team, they’ve already partnered with a top-tier university to implement these systems in several classrooms.

The rest of the Fusion 13 Lite event was composed of fun activities for selected members of the media, all themed with sustainability in mind. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing Epson implement their plans in the Philippines and globally.
