ULTRAMODERN: Here’s A First Look At The 2023 Hyundai Accent

Hyundai’s obviously gone for a certain design language that manifested in the Stargazer, Staria, and their other all-new models. Well, the latest 2023 Hyundai Accent has just made an international debut as the Verna overseas. Here are the details.

The latest compact sedan was unveiled in India with futuristic exterior styling reminiscent of its siblings. The front grille has also grown massively in size, riding along the trends of vehicles in this day and age. It looks very sharp and will definitely stand out looks-wise in a saturated segment.

The rear looks like an upper-tier Elantra was squished and compressed. That makes sense since they’re both produced by the same manufacturer.

Things receive some modernization treatment inside the cabin. Surprisingly, the interior of this 2023 Hyundai Accent gets some ambient lighting which we don’t usually find within this price range. The steering wheel design is unique as well – and those 8-inch and 10.25-inch displays take up an enormous part of the dashboard. We genuinely hope they’re high-resolution panels to match the aesthetic here.

Under the hood, there are two options for the 2023 Hyundai Accent: a 1.5-liter engine outputting 113 HP and 144 Nm of torque, or a 1.5-liter turbocharged powerplant outputting 158 HP and 253 Nm of torque. Both engines can be mated with a six-speed transmission, although those who don’t want to row their own gears can either get a CVT with the NA or a 7-speed DCT with the turbo.
