GOMO Introduces New 55GB Data Pack

After occasionally offering unlimited data for Php 499 and making its 299 plan with 30GB no-expiry data permanently available, GOMO introduces a new 499 plan that offers 55GB no-expiry data.

The new promo offer is available until July 31 and is exclusive to GCash users via the GLife section. While it may not sound as appealing as GOMO’s older 499 data pack that offers unlimited data, the two main selling points of the new version is that the data allocation has no expiry date (the unli data version is only valid for 30 days) and that you don’t need to worry about speed caps—if you recall, GOMO’s unli data offerring caps the speed at 5mbps.

Compared to the now-permanent 299 plan with 30GB no-expiry data, the 499 plan with 55GB no-expiry data offers better value: on a Peso-per-GB basis, the 499 plan nets around Php 9.07/GB, while the 299 plan nets around Php 9.97/GB. However, the new 499 plan is exclusive to GCash and that it is available for a limited time—albeit much longer compared to the promo period for the older 499 Unli Data plan, which spanned at most 3 days.

If you are the type that prefers to have a huge amount of data ready anytime without worrying about expiration dates, GOMO’s new 499 plan is a compelling one. And since there is no speed cap, you can use that 55GB data pack as well for 5G since GOMO supports it—though Smart appears to have a better offering because of their Unli 5G data packs.

Nonetheless, it is nice to see telco companies offering various data plans to accommodate the varying needs of people especially while most of us are heavily dependent on the internet for school and work.
