Huawei’s laptop family grows even larger today as the brand has launched its new high-end and mid-range laptop offerings during their Smart Office event held in Thailand today. The Huawei MateBook 16s is one of the best mid-range offerings the brand has considering its price and freebies when it goes on sale in the Philippines later this month.
The MateBook 16s has a massive 16-inch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 2520×1680 resolution. Huawei promises a 100% sRGB color gamut coverage and an average ?E<1 color accuracy. On top of all of that, the display is also touch-enabled.
The laptop is encased in a premium aluminum chassis that has a generously spaced keyboard, a large trackpad, and loud stereo speakers. Inside the chassis is a 12th generation Intel Core i7-12700H processor with Intel Iris X graphics, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 1TB of NVMe PCIe SSD storage. The laptop also has a large 86Wh battery and 135W fast-charging tech that quickly fills up the tank of the laptop.
Huawei has also addressed the biggest issue that users had with their previous crop of premium laptops: specifically, the hidden webcam in the laptop’s keys. They’ve nixed that feature and put a traditional webcam at the edge of the top bezel instead. Because of the laptop’s size, there’s room for two Type-C ports (with one acting as a Thunderbolt port) as well as more traditional USB-A ports (x2), a 3.5mm jack, and a full-size HDMI port.
The MateBook 16s is also part of Huawei’s SuperDevice ecosystem which allows products like the company’s P50 Pro, MateView monitor, and others to easily connect to it for seamless connectivity.

The Huawei MateBook 16s has a price of Php 89,999 in the Philippines. Huawei is offering a really great freebie for the MateBook 16s which is the brand’s excellent MateView monitor that we reviewed a few months ago. That particular monitor is easily priced at Php 34,990 – so you better pre-order the MateBook 16s when it starts on July 29. Pre-orders will run until August 5.
