The stations will have a standard layout, with a concourse level and a platform level. The concourse is usually above or below the platform, with stairs, escalators and elevators leading down to the platform level. Station concourses will contain ticket booths, which is separated from the platform level by fare gates. Most stations will be designed to be barrier-free inside and outside the station, and trains will have spaces for passengers using wheelchairs.

After two decades, the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7) is nearing completion. It’s just a matter of time before it starts operation.

The project was conceptualized in August 2001, while the concession agreement was signed in June 2008. However, the  Department of Transportation (DOTr) under President Duterte’s administration said that not even a single post was constructed since then. This is why they gave it the much needed attention, together with San Miguel Corporation (SMC).

Now, the project is 63.5% complete. More importantly, DOTr said they are working non-stop to finish the project immediately.

Last December, President Rodrigo Duterte, together with DOTr Sec. Art Tugade, officially unveiled the 6 train sets to be used for this project.

Once MRT-7 is operational, the 2-3 hour travel from North Ave, Quezon City to San Jose del Monte, Bulacan will be shortened to just 35 minutes. The new rail line will accommodate 300 to 500 thousand passengers daily.

The line will be 22.8 kilometers (14.2 miles) long, with 14 stations, and the first line to have a third rail electrification
