Another third-party firm gives recognition to Smart’s efforts

Smart’s efforts for improving its networks has been recognized by several firms that include Ookla and OpenSignal. For its latest recognition, Germany-based P3 Communications GmbH, a leader in mobile network benchmarking, recognized Smart for having the best download speeds in the country.

P3 Communication’s recognition to Smart is based on data obtained from October to December 2018, consisting of 121 million samples from 104,000 users. From its report, Smart scored a total of 98 points for download speeds, with the nearest competitor scoring around 68 points.

Part of Smart’s expansion efforts includes increasing the number of LTE base stations on its network by over 86% year-on-year and increasing the number of 3G base stations by 17%, with the goal of providing at least 90% to the country’s cities and municipalities.
