Twitter To Manually Reevaluate Verified Accounts

After a hiatus of over three years, Twitter relaunched the app’s verification program last May only to be paused again after Elon Musk’s Twitter take over. Good news is that Twitter will tentatively launch Verified this coming December 2. Read on to find more about the new Verified program the app is launching.

Twitter To Manually Reevaluate Verified Accounts

Twitter will now be verifying accounts manually to authenticate legitimacy before the famous blue check activates. This is a great step as the app started offering blue checks to eligible Twitter Blue subscribers after Elon Musk’s take over without actually authenticating and verifying account identities. This led to several confusions in the app as these verified accounts can easily impersonate famous figures and even official brands.

The new verification program will also be launching three check mark colors: gold, gray, and blue. Gold checks will be given to companies, gray to governments, and blue for individuals. In addition to this, individuals with a blue check mark can now have a smaller secondary logo should they belong to an organization and be verified by the said group.

Elon Musk has said that they will be providing a longer explanation on the new verification program of the app next week that will answer some questions, such as the criteria of the verification or updates on old verified accounts.
