Huawei to Launch P60 and Mate X3 on March 23

It’s official: Huawei is indeed launching the P60 series and the Mate X3 on March 23. This was revealed in a series of posters that they posted on their official social media channels.

While the teaser poster is vague, the P60 series is expected to be unveiled on March 23–especially since Huawei executives have been showcasing their camera capabilities, specifically with their telephoto performance. Even Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu shared his own sample shot taken with the P60 Pro.

The P60 Pro’s telephoto camera will reportedly use a 64-megapixel camera that will utilize Huawei’s RYYB pixel arrangement that aims to offer great light sensitivity. Aside from the telephoto camera, the P60 Pro will be utilizing a new IMX888 sensor for the main camera an an IMX858 for the ultra-wide camera. In addition, Huawei is set to debut the latest iteration of its XMAGE image processing tech.

Aside from the colors we’ve seen previously, the P60 Pro will reportedly come in what appears to be Emerald Green and Lavender Purple colors. Some of the rumored specs include a 4G version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, a 6.6-inch 120hz curved OLED display with a 1440p resolution, and a 5000mAh battery that supports 100w wired and 50w wireless charging. As expected, there will be a vanilla model, a Pro version, and a special-edition one that’s made for select markets.

As for the Mate X3, Huawei will let go of its current design and go for a more conventional inward-folding design. Aside from rumors that it will have satellite communication, the Mate X3 will reportedly feature a periscope camera, along with a new type of heat dissipation tech.

We should know more about the P60 series and the Mate X3 once Huawei reveals all the details in China on March 23.
