Welcome to Unbox’s “Viral Fridays” where we feature weirder than usual tech and geek related news to cap out the week.

Today’s news item clearly involves #BillionaireProblems, and you might have a lot of questions right now. Like, “Why would he buy his dog an iPhone 7, much less eight of them?” Or, “Does his dog know how to use smartphones?” Or, “Is this guy insane in the membrane?” Well, who knows what goes on the minds of these billionaires (and their kids)?

The lucky canine in question is Coco, the Alaskan malamute, and her owner is Wang Sicong. Sicong is the only son of Chinese billionaire Wang Jianlin, reputedly China’s richest man with an estimated worth of $30 billion.
Based on Forbes’ 2016 financial data, that staggering amount is around the combined net worth of the Sy family ($13.7B), the Gokongwei family ($6.8B), Aboitiz family ($5B) and the Tan family ($4.9B) – the four biggest, wealthiest conglomerates in the Philippines. Wowza!

Anyway, back to the son and his Apple-fangirl dog. Sicong, nicknamed “The Nation’s Husband”, posted the photos on Coco’s verified Weibo social media account for all to behold. As (he) expected, his post attracted plenty of attention and comments such as:
- “I don’t understand all the show-off posts on (social media).”
- “What’s the point? Don’t make me do it?”
- “This guy is nuts!”
- “Harambe died for this?!” (No, we’re just kidding here, teehee.)

Yeah, we’re left in the dark as well, but billionaires will be billionaires. Eight iPhone 7s are a microscopic drop in a bucket for these guys. Seriously.

It’s not the first time that the country’s most eligible bachelor, Wang Sicong has doted on his beloved Coco, though. Last year, “The Nation’s Husband” posted photos of Coco wearing two Apple Watches with luxury brands amounting to beyond $37,000. Whatta guy.
