Here’s a surprising fact for you: Energizer (yes, the battery people) makes phones. Decent phones, according to our research, and they’re decent enough that they’re licensed by Avenir Telecom to be sold in Europe. So it’s not surprising that Energizer is teasing the launch of their P28K phone that holds a whopping 28,000mAh of juice.
Now if that sounds familiar, remember that Energizer tried the same stunt back in 2019 with their Energizer Power Max P18K Pop. It was a ridiculously large phone for the time, easily beating the thickness of three phones stacked together.
The main question here is this: will the Energizer P28K ever see the light of day after it’s been teased and announced? Probably not – the Energizer Power Max P18K Pop was never sold, and never went past its status as a one-off device. Despite the advancement of technology in the intervening years, I personally don’t see a way of stuffing that much capacity in a phone without it becoming incredibly bulky.
In any case, Energizer Mobile said that the phone will be a rugged device that will have a 6.78-inch FHD display and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera will be a 60-megapixel shooter, paired with two other 20-megapixel sensors.
