Things have been abuzz lately when there have been reports circulating that the ZenFone 10 might be the last of the line–and that ASUS will be retiring the ZenFone series after almost 10 years, leaving people with one less option for a compact flagship device.
While we still waiting for the day that ASUS will sell the ZenFone to the Philippines once again (the last one being the ZenFone 8 in 2021), ASUS has responded to the rumors and insists that they will not end the ZenFone lineup. Here’s ASUS’ statement:
“We would like to address the rumor that ASUS Zenfone 10 will be the last generation of the series and the ASUS Zenfone product line will be shut down. This is not true. We will continue our two main phone business product lines, the ROG Phone and the Zenfone. ASUS has a strong commitment to our smartphone business and customers. Please reference our Q2 earnings call for more information. Please stay tuned for our 2024 product lineups.”
ASUS’ Q2 2023 earnings call did reveal that they planned for a company restructuring back in June after its financial report revealed its first quarterly loss in over 4 years. The Taiwanese brand did not reveal the extent of the restructuring efforts–and how it could potentially affect both the ZenFone and ROG Phone divisions in the future.
While we don’t know about the future of the ZenFone series after the ZenFone 10, ASUS is reportedly working on the ROG Phone 8 series, which is expected to debut with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and in three versions: standard, Pro, and UItimate.
