Motorola Debuts Entry-Level E40 with 90Hz Display, 48-Megapixel Camera

Motorola continues to expand its entry-level E-series line with the E40. Compared to the E20 that was announced a few days prior, the E40 offers substantially better specs across the board.

Motorola E40 Specs:

  • Unisoc Tiger T700 processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB storage, expandable via MicroSD
  • 6.5-inch HD+ IPS Display, 90Hz refresh rate
  • 48-megapixel f/2.0 main camera with PDAF, 2-megapixel f/2.4 macro camera, 2-megapixel f/2.4 depth sensor
  • 8-megapixel selfie camera
  • 4G, LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, rear mounted fingerprint scanner
  • 5000mAh battery
  • 10w charging
  • Android 11

Powering the E40 is a Unisoc Tiger T700 processor that is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage–the latter being expandable via MicroSD. The Tiger T700 is a 12nm octa-core processor that has two Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores–all running at 1.8Ghz.

The E40 gets a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a punch-hole for the 8-megapixel selfie snapper and 90hz refresh rate. Its triple rear camera setup consists of a 48-megapixel main camera and a pair of 2-megapixel cameras: one for depth-sensing, and one for macro shots.

Despite being an entry-level device, the E40 has a grooved back panel design for an easier grip, along with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner with the Motorola logo. Keeping the lights on is a 5000mAh battery with 10w USB-C charging and Android 11-based MyUX out of the box.

The E40 will be available in Carbon Gray and Pink Clay, and Motorola has yet to reveal the price and availability as of this writing.
