Xiaomi Mi Max

Part 2 for Xiaomi’s Big-Screened, Big-Batteried Device

The Xiaomi Mi Max was made officially almost a year ago. The phablet from the Chinese brand had a 6.4-inch Full HD display that sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650/652 processor with up to 4GB of RAM, and up to 128GB of storage. Xiaomi has always had a knack for releasing bang-for-your-buck smartphones and it seems like the big-screened device did well enough to warrant a second iteration, whose internals partially got leaked thanks to GFXBench.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Specifications

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor
  • 4GB of RAM
  • Adreno 506 GPU
  • 6.4-inch Full HD IPS LCD display; 1920×1080 resolution, 342ppi
  • 128GB of storage
  • 12-megapixel rear camera, LED flash, 4K Video
  • 5-megapixel front camera
  • Dual SIM
  • 3G, LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC
  • GPS, A-GPS
  • 4850mAh battery
  • Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI v7

As you can see in the spec sheet, the next iteration of the Mi Max is receiving a bump up in terms of its processor and will be getting the fairly new Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor that has been paired with 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage; though we wouldn’t be surprised to see other variants of the device that would have slightly less RAM and more storage options.

As we all know, specs getting leaked on GFXBench often means that we’re bound to see the smartphone launched pretty soon. Given that the first Mi Max was released in May 2016, it would seem that the Mi Max 2 may not be far off from hitting the market.
