POCO X4 Pro 5G And M4 Pro Announced, Check Out Their Price In The Philippines Here

There has been much speculation over the past months regarding the much-awaited POCO X4 Pro 5G smartphone. At long last, the company has finally made the product official alongside a 4G version of the POCO M4 Pro 5G we tested late last year. POCO also made the announcement for the POCO X4 Pro 5G price in the Philippines

We’ll go into the full details on these phones so that you can make a calculated purchasing decision before you get overrun by the hype train.

Starting off with the POCO X4 Pro 5G, this is a device clearly aimed towards the mid-range segment with its nickname “The All-Around Ace.” Some would say that it’s a supercharged version of the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. As mentioned in some of the leaks we’ve seen before, it does have a 6.67-inch DotDisplay embued with AMOLED technology. A first for POCO in this price range, this assures us of vibrant, bright colors, as well as blacks deeper than the ocean floor. The 2400×1080 FHD+ resolution will make media consumption an enjoyable activity, while the 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate will find utility in general and specific use cases. The glass is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5, hiding the 16-megapixel in-display camera along with it.

Grabbing your attention from the phone’s backside is the gargantuan POCO text right next to the camera module. It neatly sets the layout for where the 108-megapixel rear shooter resides, alongside the 8-megapixel ultrawide and 2-megapixel macro support shooters. The company claims that its camera technology fuses pixels together to gather more light and detail. This is highly similar to the ultra pixels that the HTC One was touting back in the day, although there are no disappointing compromises here.

We’ve delved on the phone’s exterior features – now let’s take a look inside.

Powering the value-packed POCO X4 Pro 5G package is the Snapdragon 695, which acts as its beating heart. This is a reliable 6nm octa-core processor built for this price range with 5G connectivity to boot. The device can be configured with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM to effectively keep all the applications running simultaneously. Dynamic RAM technology which allocates some of the phone’s ROM to RAM will see the 6GB variant pushed to 8, and the 8 bumped up to 11. Onboard storage tops out at 256GB but can be expanded by up to 1TB via the wonders of a microSD card. Keeping the power running is a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 67W turbo charging. According to POCO, the smartphone can be fully charged from empty in just 41 minutes and will last you the entire day.

Other notable details are the inclusion of a 3.5 mm headphone jack with Hi-Res Audio, NFC, an IR blaster, side fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 5.1, an IP53 rating, and the latest in-house specialized liquid cooling technology labeled as “LiquidCool Technology 1.0 Plus.” The goal is to keep temperatures low in order to sustain high loads such as gaming, editing, and rendering for prolonged periods.

The second order of business for POCO is the announcement of the M4 Pro. This is not to be confused with the M4 Pro 5G released in November of last year, as this one can only connect to 4G bands. Nonetheless, it seeks to establish itself as the prime choice within the realm of the gateway to the mid-range.

The POCO M4 Pro will have a respectable 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED DotDisplay which is a delight to see within this segment. With an advertised peak brightness of up to 1000 nits, using this device outdoors should pose no problems. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 while the front punch-hole display shelters the 16-megapixel front camera. It moves beautifully both still and in motion due to a 90Hz refresh rate.

You’ll find similar POCO branding at the rear, although the main camera here is relatively more modest at numbers of 64-megapixels. The overall setup is nothing to scoff at though – it also carries the same resolution for the ultrawide and macro cameras as its more expensive sibling. The central theme for this device is to “Maximize Your Fun” with its camera performance and various modes, so we have high hopes for its overall performance.

An octa-core MediaTek Helio G96 chipset finds itself doing all the heavy lifting for the device, with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM at its disposal. Surprisingly, the Liquid Cool technology also finds itself in this device, improving its gaming credentials, at least in terms of thermals, at this price point. Storage is set at up to 256GB with up to 1TB of expandable storage. The battery is at 5,000 mAh as well and can easily be topped up with 33W quick charging technology.

As par for the course, the phone comes with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, a 3.5mm headphone jack (with Hi-Res certification), dual speakers, an IR blaster, IP53 splash-proof protection, and NFC.
