For starters, let’s take a look at the unique design. We’re not sure why LG decided to go with a bent curved display, but the marketing explanation is that the slightly banana-ish shape brings the earpiece and microphone closer to your face, and makes talking on the phone easier for long periods.

Moving right along, LG has the distinct pleasure of being the first to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor, which is obviously a big deal. It’s a 64-bit, octa-core processor running at 2.0GHz, and it brings to the fore some serious processing power. That’s paired with 2GB of DDR4 RAM and 32GB of expandable storage.

The camera on the G Flex 2 is rated at 13-megapixels and has OIS as well as the laser autofocus system on the G3, which should make taking snaps a breeze. A smaller 2.1-megapixel front camera is thrown in for selfies.

One of the best features of the original G Flex was the self-healing back that repaired minor scratches over time. That feature is back, though the actual process of healing has been speeded up – the original took around 3 minutes to heal, while the G Flex 2 now only requires 10 seconds at room temperature to do the same (T-1000, anyone)?

As far as availability, the G Flex 2 is hitting LG’s home market of Korea at the end of this month, with a global launch after. No pricing has been set as of yet.
