Just a month to go before the Note 8 announcement
Samsung has finally sent out invites for the official unveiling of their Note 8 flagship, set to happen on August 23 in New York. While this may look like your usual Unpacked event for another high-profile flagship, for Samsung it’s the closing chapter in their Note 7 debacle that saw them taking a hit in both profits and prestige.
It’s been almost a year since their Galaxy Note 7 started combusting by themselves, and Samsung’s looking to put that painful issue behind them. The Galaxy S8 and S8+ were solid statements of Samsung’s technological superiority over its competitors, and proved that the Note 7 debacle was an unfortunate mis-step, not the beginnings of a death spiral.
Samsung’s Unpacked event starts at 10 a.m. (EST) while the official event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. (EST).
