Will you get shiny new Palm handsets in the near future?

Back in 2005, Palm was one of the leading brands in tech, and their smartphones powered by their OS sold like hotcakes. Today Palm is no more, or so we think – Chinese Electronics maker TCL which also owns Alcatel OnteTouch has announced that they are reviving the Palm back as a US subsidiary.

Will you be using a new Palm handset in the near future? Maybe, but take note that the new phones will have none of the original Palm DNA as its patents were all sold piecemeal. Still, TCL is looking to re-create the old Palm magic by getting input from Palm’s fan base, adding that it would become the largest crowd-sourced project in history.
