TCL’s Prototype Phone With Slide-out Display Is A Trip

How the heck is this supposed to work?

Before Mobile World Congress got canceled, Chinese smartphone maker TCL was supposed to show off a brand-new form factor they’ve been working on.

And instead of a foldable phone, the company was supposedly working on a slide-out phone concept.

If you’re left scratching your head how that actually works, we are too. How the heck does the screen slide in without ripping it completely from the phone? How much of a crease does it have? Will it have any form of glass protection?

We have plenty of questions about this phone since it’s one of the few unique takes on a mobile device we’ve seen in a while, foldable phones notwithstanding.  Hopefully, TCL still announces this prototype device via an online event next despite MWC’s cancellation, as it certainly looks to be quite an interesting concept phone.
