Like its predecessor, the OPPO A78 5G boasts of a fancy design on the back panel to make it stand out–on to of having 5G.
We already have seen countless phones that go for the dual circle camera module design for months, to the point that it’s hard to differentiate them from one another. For OPPO, the A78 5G features an extended strip to the two circles to give it a clever dual-tone appearance–and to make its design more distinctive against the competition.
The A78 5G has already been launched in Malaysia and India, and there’s a good chance that it might arrive in the Philippines as a successor to the A77s. Outside of the design, the A78 5G uses a Dimensity 700 processor, which should offer better performance than the Snapdragon 680 used on the A77s.
Outside of those differences, the A78 5G shares the same set of features found on the A77s: HD+ 90hz display, stereo speakers, 5000mAh battery with support for 33w USB-C charging, 8-megapixel selfie camera, and a 50-megapixel main camera that’s paired with a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
The OPPO A78 5G is priced at RM 1,099 in Malaysia, which is roughly Php 14k when converted. That makes it roughly the same price as the A77s in the Philippines, though the addition of 5G connectivity (on top of the Dimensity 700 offering better performance) makes the A78 5G a considerable upgrade.
